The Order of Harry Potter Books and the Perfect Age to Start Reading Them – When to start reading Harry potter

Both young and older readers have fallen in love with the magical world of Harry Potter. The series has established itself as an enduring classic thanks to its rich storytelling and enduring characters. I remember reading it for the first time when I was ten and every year, I read a new book. I believe it was perfect because I was old enough for each book and the trama.

But What is the Harry Potter Age in each Book? In the first book, Harry Potter is 11 years old and each book in the main series covers one year of Harry’s life except for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which begins when Harry is 37 years old.

Some children are quite independent readers by the age of 10, but if you want to encourage them to read and participate, I would suggest starting them around 8 or 9 years old. There are also some wonderful illustrated books! I highly recommend the interactive MinaLima Edition since I absolutely adore it.

These seven books comprise the main series written by J.K. Rowling. Each book follows the magical adventures of Harry Potter and his friends at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

In addition to the main series, J.K. Rowling has also written several companion books and screenplays, expanding the magical world of Harry Potter.

8. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child ← (2016) Harry is 37 years old

It is a two-part stage play written by British playwright Jack Thorne, based on an original story by J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany, and Jack Thorne. I enjoyed this book, but I have to say that as I read it, I felt that Harry, Hermione, Ron and Draco were not the characters I knew, especially Harry.
